We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>A senior Trump administration official also told Fox News that military aid will remain on hold until Ukrainian leaders show a commitment to good faith peace negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is not permanent termination of aid, it\u2019s a pause,\u2019 the official emphasized. \u2018The orders are going out right now.\u2019<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-media fn-video\">\n<div class=\"video-container paywall1\">\n<div class=\"m video-player\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The official said Monday\u2019s move was in response to Zelenskyy\u2019s conduct over the last week.<\/p>\n<p>Zelenskyy\u2019s meeting with Trump and Vice President JD Vance last week erupted into a shouting match that was seen worldwide. The Ukrainian president traveled to the United States to meet with Trump after the commander-in-chief said a peace negotiation to end the war between Ukraine and Russia is in its final stages.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zelenskyy was apparently presented with a minerals for security agreement by the Trump administration prior to the press event, but the deal included no security guarantees to protect Ukraine from another Russian invasion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Minutes after reporters in the Oval Office asked their first questions, an aggressive spat unfolded between the heads of state.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We cannot just sign an \u2026 agreement without any substantial guarantees,\u2019 one Ukrainian defense advisor told Fox News Digital. \u2018It\u2019s not going to work. It\u2019s just going to reward the aggressor.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Zelenskyy\u2019s refusal to sign a deal apparently contributed to the ire of Trump and Vice President JD Vance. \u00a0The Ukrainian leader pointed out that Russia never stopped attacking Ukraine between 2014 and 2022, four years of which included Trump\u2019s first term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Nobody stopped him you know,\u2019 Zelenskyy said, adding that Russian President Putin repeatedly violated bilateral agreements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trump then accused Zelenskyy of \u2018gambling with World War Three\u2019 as the Ukrainian president pushed back at suggestions that he should work harder to reach a ceasefire with Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>Following the heated exchange, Zelenskyy refused to apologize when asked by Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Mr. President, do you think your relationship with Donald Trump \u2014 President Trump \u2014 after today can be salvaged?\u2019 Baier asked Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-media fn-video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<div class=\"m video-player\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2018Yes, of course, because it\u2019s relations more than two presidents. It\u2019s the historical relations, strong relations between our people, and that\u2019s why I always began\u2026 to thank your people from our people,\u2019 Zelenskyy said during an exclusive interview Friday on \u2018Special Report.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Of course, thankful to the president, and, of course, to Congress, but first of all, to your people. Your people helped save our people\u2026 we wanted very much to have all these strong relations, and where it counted, we will have it.\u2019<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-media fn-video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<div class=\"m video-player\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Biden administration gave billions in military aid to Ukraine to fend off Russian forces amid its three-year war following Moscow\u2019s invasion of its neighbor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked Monday about the status of the rare-earth minerals deal, Trump told reporters that he would disclose where the deal stands when he addresses a joint session of Congress Tuesday in a speech akin to the annual State of the Union. He added that he would like to see the Ukrainian leader express more gratitude for U.S. support during the war in order to rekindle peace negotiations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I just think he should be more appreciative because this country has stuck with him through thick and thin,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018We\u2019ve given them much more than Europe, and Europe should have given more than us because, as you know, that\u2019s right there, that\u2019s the border.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This story is breaking.
