Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc (JLR) is restarting production at several UK sites after a major cyberattack halted operations for weeks<\/a>, disrupting its global manufacturing network. <\/p>\n

The outage, which began in late August, forced the Tata Motors-owned company to suspend production at factories worldwide, including plants in the UK, China, India, Brazil, and Slovakia. <\/p>\n

The shutdown also triggered supply chain chaos and left thousands of jobs at risk.<\/p>\n

The UK government later stepped in with a \u00a31.5 billion ($2 billion) emergency loan guarantee to help JLR pay suppliers. <\/p>\n

Production restarts across West Midlands and other UK sites<\/h2>\n

JLR said engine and battery assembly at its West Midlands facilities would resume on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Stamping operations at Castle Bromwich, Halewood, and Solihull will also restart, along with body, paint, and logistics units that connect to the company\u2019s global production system.<\/p>\n

To cushion suppliers affected by the disruption, JLR introduced a new financing programme that provides cash-up-front options to boost their liquidity and prevent further delays in deliveries.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s supply network\u2014spanning multiple countries\u2014had been severely hit, as its UK sites alone account for around 1,000 vehicles per day. <\/p>\n

The interruption led to production delays of more than 30,000 vehicles and financial losses estimated at around \u00a35 million in daily profits, according to industry analysts.<\/p>\n
